The break-out success of Mark Wahlberg's new war movie Lone Survivor has been marred by a shooting incident in a Florida cinema on Monday (13Jan14), which cost one film fan his life. An argument over texting spiralled out of control leaving one man dead and a woman seriously injured. Police reports suggest the victims were waiting for a screening of Lone Survivor to begin at the Cobb CineBistro in Wesley Chapel near Tampa when another couple sitting behind them told the man to put away his cell phone. Words were allegedly exchanged and the man who made the initial complaint pulled out a gun and shot both the texter and his partner. One eye witness in the cinema says, "Their voices start going up, there seems to be a confrontation, somebody throws popcorn, then bang, he was shot. He staggered two seats over, fell on my son and I. I asked if the guy was OK and he started gurgling blood and then fell." Another cinemagoer wrestled the firearm from the shooter's hands and made a citizen's arrest, holding him down until the police arrived. The shot male was pronounced dead upon arrival at a nearby cinema, while his partner is expected to make a full recovery.
