Rockers Switchfoot were forced to postpone a homecoming gig in San Diego, California on Wednesday (15Jan14) after frontman Jon Foreman injured himself while surfing. The singer took a blow to the face while hitting the waves on a local beach on Monday (13Jan14) and as a result, the band decided to delay celebrating the release of its new album Fading West until next month (Feb14). A statement released by Foreman reads: "You travel all around the world making a movie and record built around surfing, and really push yourself to ride some really challenging waves. So it's more than a bit ironic to get injured in your own backyard. Thankful that I'm okay - it could have been much worse." The sold-out show and band meet-and-greet had been due to take place at The Casbah venue on Wednesday, but will now be held on 3 February (14).
