The Hollywood mogul who launched The Mummy movie franchise has died. James Jacks passed away on Monday (29Jan14) after suffering a heart attack at his Los Angeles home. He was 66. The veteran producer was best known for bringing The Mummy blockbusters to cinemas, and his other credits include spin-off The Scorpion King, as well as Dazed and Confused, The Jackal, cult comedy Mallrats, and 2012 epic John Carter. His longtime producing partner Sean Daniel says in a statement, "Nobody loved movies more.
