Akon is facing a lawsuit from an Egyptian singer who alleges the R&B star failed to secure rapper Pitbull for his new video. Tamer Hosny, one of the Arab world's most high profile stars, claims he paid $300,000 (£187,500) for Akon and Pitbull to appear on his new song, Arabian Knight, with part of the deal being that they starred in the track's promo. However, in a new lawsuit, Hosny alleges Akon failed to deliver Pitbull as promised, and he lost the $100,000 (£62,500) he spent on cameras and a crew on the day of the video shoot. Pitbull, who has collaborated with Akon in the studio on several previous projects, has not been named in the lawsuit, according to TMZ.com.
