Australian actress Cate Blanchett is hoping to make the transition into directing this year (14). The Oscar-winning Elizabeth star wants to step behind the camera so she can spend more time with her husband and three young children, and she has already lined up a number of potential projects. She tells Britain's The Daily Telegraph newspaper, "I have three boys (sons) so I take things on a case-by-case basis. There are a couple of things I am interested in directing, and there's a novel that I am trying to bring to the screen, so we'll see if that comes to pass." Blanchett also reveals she is working on a TV project with actress Julie Delpy, adding, "I also have something in development with (U.S. TV network) HBO at the moment which I'm hoping to do with Julie Delpy, whom I greatly admire, so hopefully that will come to fruition. But these things take time."
