Singer/songwriter Neko Case was forced to scrap a concert in Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday night (28Jan14) due to dangerous weather conditions. The Porchlight star had initially planned to go ahead with the show following heavy snowfall in the city. Taking to her Twitter.com page, she wrote, "Ok guys. The show is NOT CANCELLED tonight. It's snow, not lava." However, Case had no choice but to postpone the gig hours later after local officials declared Alabama in a state of emergency as freezing rain turned to ice on the roads and caused a slew of accidents across the state. Returning to her blog, she tweeted, "Fine. Birmingham show IS cancelled tonight. Many roads are closed. Dang... I'm not going to pretend this isn't ridiculous though." However, Case still managed to enjoy her downtime in the city. She later added, "We didn't get to play but I can't say I didn't have a killer, icy time in Birmingham. You are some KIND people!" The singer is currently working on rescheduling the concert for a later date. Her tour is scheduled to continue in Indiana on Thursday (30Jan14).
