Gravity wins film prize at American Society of Cinematographers Awards

Gravity moviemaker Emmanuel Lubezki picked up his third top prize at the 28th American Society of Cinematographers Awards on Saturday (01Feb14). Lubezki was handed the feature film award at the event at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood for his work on the acclaimed space thriller. He previously won the same trophy for his work on The Tree of Life in 2011 and 2006's Children of Men. In the TV categories, Jonathan Freeman was honoured in the one-hour episodic television section for Game of Thrones, and Jeremy Benning took home the top television movie/miniseries award for Killing Lincoln. August: Osage County director John Wells was honoured with the American Society of Cinematographers' (ASC) Board of Governors Award in recognition of his career.
