Clint Eastwood’s talent manager Leonard Hirshan dies at 86

Clint Eastwood’s talent manager, Leonard Hirshan, has died at the age of 86. He passed away on Friday (31Jan14) at his home in Beverly Hills, California from Merkel cell carcinoma, a form of skin cancer.
Paying tribute to Hirshan, Eastwood’s lawyer Bruce M. Ramer tells The Hollywood Reporter, “Lenny was a joy to work with. Smart, knowledgeable, trusted and committed.
“He was a superb agent, a truly good man and a real friend. Honour and integrity and loyalty were his by-words. His type are rare. He will be remembered and missed.”
Hirshan began his career in 1951 at the William Morris Agency, where he remained until he formed his own firm, Leonard Hirshan Management, in 2001.
His clients included Elvis Presley, Sammy Davis, Jr., Sophia Loren, Walter Matthau, Stu Rosenberg and Angela Lansbury.
In 2012, Hirshan was honoured with the lifetime achievement award at the Talent Manager’s Association’s Heller Awards.
