Woody Allen told a fan at a jazz concert he is determined to overcome the fallout after his daughter Dylan Farrow renewed her abuse allegations against him. Farrow, the adopted daughter of Allen and his now ex-wife Mia Farrow, repeated her abuse claims in a New York Times online column at the weekend (01-02Feb14). Allen's representatives shot down her "tragic" and "disgraceful" allegations, which she originally made during her parents' bitter custody battle in 1992. Her claims were investigated by police at the time and no charges were filed. The director has not spoken about the latest allegations publicly but he put on a brave face to perform at an intimate jazz concert in New York on Monday (03Feb14). After his set, a fan urged the Blue Jasmine director to "hang in there, Mr. Allen" to which he replied, "I intend to. Thank you," according to a report in Britain's Daily Mirror. Allen plays clarinet with the Eddy David New Orleans Jazz Band every Monday evening at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan. He ended this week's show by playing a song named When You're Smiling.
