Gary Oldman was once banned from his son's school soccer games after challenging a referee during a match. The Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy star, who was destined for a career as a professional sportsman in his youth, recalls being ejected from his five-year-old son's game after questioning the official's judgment. Appearing on U.S. chat show Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday (11Feb14), he explains, "They were only five years old but the ref kept blowing the whistle for all these little infringements... (I was like), 'Come on ref, they're five!' He went to the coach and he said, 'That father there, you have to get rid of him,' so I actually had to leave the school. "A year later we replayed the team and I came back; I had a cap and sunglasses on... I showed up in disguise because I thought the guy might recognise me."
