Cancelled British crime show Ripper Street is to be revived online after it was cancelled by the BBC. The period drama, set in the years following Jack The Ripper's murder spree in 1880s London, was axed last year (13) after two seasons on air due to a drop in ratings. However, TV bosses have now confirmed a deal has been struck with executives at Amazon.com to resurrect the show for the website's online streaming service. The new episodes will air online first before transferring to the BBC's TV channels. Filming on the show, which stars Matthew Macfadyen, is due to begin in May (14).
