Actress Rosie Perez has accused tabloid writers of taking comments she made about Jennifer Lopez in her new memoir "out of context", insisting she has nothing against the superstar. The White Men Can't Jump star stirred controversy in Handbook for an Unpredictable Life, in which she details a heated encounter between the pair after helping Lopez land a job as a back-up dancer on the show In Living Color. Perez claimed the then-aspiring star turned on her like "some ghetto biatch (sic)" after she had to confront Lopez following complaints from other dancers. Lopez allegedly shouted, "You pick on me, me and only me, every f**king day! Every f**king day! I work my a** off, deliver and you keep pushing me aside, treating me like s**t! I know I'm good! I'm better than any of these girls, and you know it." Perez's recollection of the incident hit headlines, with some suggesting the two Latinas were still feuding after all these years, but the 49 year old is adamant it was blown out of proportion. She tells U.S. talk show The View, "What upset me about the tabloids is that they pitted two Latin women against each other and they took what I wrote out of context... I have no malice against her. The first time I saw her I told her I thought she was wonderful and I am really happy for her success."
