Pop superstar Prince comforted British singer Laura Mvula after she failed to claim a single prize at this year's (14) BRIT Awards. The Purple Rain hitmaker has been in the U.K. recently performing a series of pop-up gigs, and Mvula admits she turned to the music veteran for advice after she was snubbed at the prizegiving. She tells the London Evening Standard newspaper, "I wasn't in a great place after the BRITs. I felt sort of incongruous, like I didn't really belong there... It was great to ask for his (Prince's) support in conversation. He's so passionate about music. He was wonderfully encouraging and kind. So wise and knowledgeable." Mvula was nominated for Best British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act at the BRIT Awards last month (Feb14), but she lost out to Ellie Goulding and Bastille respectively.
