A South Korean reality TV show has been axed following a contestant's suicide. Competition show Jjak, which is loosely based on the Big Brother franchise, has been pulled from the local SBS network's schedule following the on-set tragedy. Police reports suggest a 29-year-old woman, identified by her last name Jeon, hanged herself with a hairdryer cord in the bathroom of the 'Lovetown' guest house where the show is filmed on the island of Jeju. The deceased reportedly told her mother that she felt ashamed of the way she was going to appear on the programme before taking her life. She also told friends that producers were trying to portray her as a "tragic type".
