Author Joe McGinniss dies at 71

Author/reporter Joe Mcginniss has died at the age of 71. The American writer passed away on Monday (10Mar14) in Worcester, Massachusetts from complications related to prostate cancer.
At the age of 26, McGinniss earned acclaim with his New York Times’ best-selling book, The Selling of the President 1968, which gave an in-depth look at marketing campaign behind then U.S. presidential candidate Richard Nixon.
He went on to write 11 more revealing tomes, including 1983’s controversial true crime book Fatal Vision, documenting the 1970s case of Army doctor and convicted killer Jeffrey MacDonald.
McGinniss’ last published book was in 2011 with The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, an unauthorised biography about the former Republican vice presidential nominee.
