British actress Sienna Miller has landed a starring role in director Clint Eastwood's upcoming film, American Sniper. The Alfie star has been tapped to play Taya Kyle, the wife of late Navy SEAL sniper, Chris Kyle, who was murdered in Texas last year (Feb13). Bradley Cooper is set to take on the lead role of Chris in the biopic, which is based on the soldier's memoir, also titled American Sniper, focusing on both his experiences at home and the military. According to TheWrap.com, Miller beat out a number of notable actresses for the part, including Thor's Jaimie Alexander and House of Carts star Kate Mara. Production was briefly held up last year (13) after Steven Spielberg left the project, but Eastwood has since taken the helm and the film is scheduled to begin filming next month (Apr14).
