British pop star Melanie Chisholm had to be rescued by security guards after she became trapped in her dressing room at a tiny London show. The former Spice Girls star performed at the Queen of Hoxton venue in the British capital last week (ends16Mar14) with rising singer/songwriter Peter Aristone, and hundreds of fans packed into the small bar to see the set. However, the crowd left Chisholm trapped as devotees packed the space outside her dressing room waiting for autographs. She tells the London Evening Standard newspaper, "The gig was packed and it's only a small venue, so afterwards I struggled to get out of the dressing room. The venue's security had to help me out otherwise I think we'd still be there now. There were hundreds of fans in a very small venue so it was much safer to sign autographs and pose for pictures outside. "It was amazing to play such an intimate venue and the audience were just a couple of feet away from the stage. I literally had to push through the crowd to get on the stage. It was an amazing gig and the atmosphere was electric. I was so chuffed (pleased) that so many of my fans turned up to see me play but I might have to pick a bigger venue in future."
