Oprah Winfrey's former stepmother has been given 60 days to vacate the Tennessee home she used to share with the TV titan's father following their divorce last year (13). Oprah purchased the $1.4 million (£875,000) property in Laurelbrooke, Williamson County as a wedding gift for her dad Vernon and his new wife, Barbara, in 2000, but the couple split in 2012 and have since divorced. The retired teacher, 66, was allowed to temporarily stay in the house following the break-up and Winfrey even offered to give her another pad in Chateau Valley to live in "free and clear", or sell off her marital home and split the proceeds equally, but both deals were refused, according to the TV mogul's representative. Winfrey was then forced to take legal action to evict Barbara after requests for her to voluntarily vacate the mansion were ignored, and on Monday (31Mar14), she agreed to follow a Tennessee judge's recommendation to give her ex-stepmum another 60 days to leave.
