Actor Rob Lowe re-enacted a disastrous kissing scene he had with Jewel after revealing the singer was reluctant to lock lips with him while filming their 2003 TV series The Lyon's Den. In his new memoir, Love Life, the St. Elmo's Fire hunk admits his worst experience with an onscreen love interest came during the short-lived legal drama, which only ran for six episodes. During an interview with U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres on Wednesday (09Apr14), Lowe recalled the awkward incident with the You Were Meant For Me hitmaker. He explained, "I wanted to write some stories about what it's like to be on a TV series really. And more importantly what it's like to be on a TV series that is clearly an unmitigated disaster. It's a parade of indignities. And the culminating blow for me was having the actress who didn't want to kiss me in a love scene. "And it was like, 'This? After all of this all the stuff we're trying to do? I now have to deal with this?' And that person would be Jewel." Instead of just describing the uncomfortable smooch to his close pal DeGeneres, Lowe offered to show the audience what Jewel did, by acting out the scene with the comedienne. He said, "When we finally did (kiss), my clue was her reaction after the director kind of forced us to do it. You tell me if I could have gotten it (her reaction) wrong. And at this point, we've had six episodes of 'will they or won't they' sparks and fireworks." DeGeneres, playing Lowe, began to lean into the actor, who assumed the role of Jewel, but Lowe slowly backed away as DeGeneres' lips touched his, arching back and flailing his arms while she forced himself on top of her. Lowe then mimicked Jewel my wiping "the kiss" off his face, and asked DeGeneres, "What does that mean?", to which she replied, "She likes it so much she's moving it to the other side."
