Hip-hop veteran Flavor Flav has been forced to book another flight back to his native New York in July (14) after his traffic and drug case was postponed for a second time on Friday (16May14). The Public Enemy rapper, real name William Drayton, appeared in a Mineola courtroom in Long Island this week (begs12May14) to face charges of speeding, possession of marijuana and felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle relating to an arrest in January (14), when he was pulled over en route to his mother's funeral in the Big Apple. In March (14), Drayton, who lives in Las Vegas, expressed his desire to wrap up the case as soon as possible as the cross-country flights were proving costly, but his wish did not come true on Friday as his lawyer, Indji Bessim, revealed she was still trying to reach a plea deal with prosecutors to resolve the matter. As a result, the judge overseeing the case set the next hearing for 11 July (14). Drayton said little as he left the courthouse, but spit a rhyme for reporters to show his annoyance at the latest delay, suggesting the flights to New York were putting a strain on his bank balance. He said, "I'm starvin' like Marvin. Give me a turkey, I'm carvin' (sic)."
