The mansion that fell apart around Tom Hanks and Shelley Long in 1986 comedy The Money Pit is up for sale. The Long Island, New York estate, which doubled as the movie couple's home, will be listed for $12.5 million (£7.8 million), according to The New York Times. The three-storey house in Lattingtown features eight bedrooms, a six-car garage, a gym, a saltwater pool, a refrigerated wine wall and a pool house. At the time of the film's production, the home was owned by publisher Eric Ridder. It has been restored by its current owners.
