Reformed rockers The Libertines want to tour the U.S. for the first time in more than 10 years, but they fear frontman Pete Doherty will be refused a visa over his string of drug convictions. The British band split in 2004 and made a brief comeback in 2010 before once again going on hiatus. They reunited earlier this year (14) for several shows in the U.K. ahead of a planned tour of Europe in September and October (14). They are also eyeing a series of concerts in the U.S. but the rockers fear Doherty's numerous convictions for drug possession, driving offences and burglary will put a stop to their plans. Guitarist Carl Barat tells U.S. magazine Rolling Stone, "I don't know what your immigration people's policy is on my band. But we'd love to (tour the U.S. again)."
