Elvis Presley’s singer Millie Kirkham dead at 91

Elvis Presley’s longtime backing vocalist Mildred ‘millie’ Kirkham has died, aged 91. Kirkham passed away in Nashville, Tennessee on Sunday (14Dec14), several days after suffering a stroke.
She is best known for providing vocals on some of Presley’s biggest hits, including Blue Christmas, The Wonder Of You and Surrender, and she also performed with The King live at a number of concerts.
Kirkham also sang on hit tracks for other artists including Bobby Vinton’s Blue Velvet, I’m Sorry by Brenda Lee, and Roy Orbison’s It’s Over, and she also worked with George Jones, Patsy Cline, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Loretta Lynn and Reba McEntire.
