Kelly Clarkson lines up Dolly duet for Christmas 2015

Kelly Clarkson already has her sights set on a big gift for next Christmas – a duet with Dolly Parton. The Since U Been Gone singer attempted to sign Dolly up for her inaugural Miracle on Broadway charity gig, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday (20Dec14), but the country queen had to decline the opportunity to sing Hard Candy Christmas with the new mum.
However, Clarkson now has a promise from Parton for the 2015 concert.
Clarkson explains, “I told my husband that one of my favourite Christmas songs of all time was Hard Candy Christmas and he said, ‘Well, why don’t you call Dolly and see if she’ll come sing it with you?’ I was like, ‘Oh sure, I’ll just randomly call the queen of country music and see if she’ll come sing with me!'”
But Clarkson did heed her husband’s advice and sent off a note to Parton.
She tells Billboard, “Dolly doesn’t email. She faxes! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a fax before. She couldn’t do it on such short notice, but I have a fax from Dolly Parton! I’m having it framed and it’s going on the wall. She said she’d love to come next year.”
