Veteran Hollywood stuntman Bill Hart loses cancer battle at 80

Legendary movie stuntman Bill Hart has died, aged 80. Hart, who made a name for himself as Glenn Ford’s stunt double for over two decades, lost his battle with cancer at his home in Northridge, California on Friday (02Jan15).
His credits included The Getaway, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, Lethal Weapon 3 and classic Western The Wild Bunch, where he famously jumped from a real exploding bridge.
He appeared in more than 150 movies and TV shows and was inducted into the Hollywood Stuntmen’s Hall of Fame.
His sons both followed dad into the stuntman business – veteran Jimmy Hart recently worked on the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice film, while tragic Chuck Hart died in 2010.
Harts served with the U.S. Marines and arrived in Hollywood in 1958, where he doubled for John Wayne in films like The Alamo and The Comancheros.
