Actress June Fairchild dies at 68

Actress JUNE FAIRCHILD has lost her battle with liver cancer.
The Up In Smoke star passed away at a Los Angeles hospice on Tuesday (17Feb15) at the age of 68.
Fairchild rose to fame in the 1970s, appearing in films such as Rock Hudson’s Pretty Maids All in a Row, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot with Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges, and Mae West’s final big film, Sextette.
She also worked with Jack Nicholson on Drive, He Said and The Monkees’ comedy Head, but she was perhaps best known for her role in Cheech and Chong’s 1978 stoner classic Up In Smoke, in which she played a junkie.
She dated singer Danny Hutton and reportedly came up with his band’s name, Three Dog Night, but she struggled with drug and alcohol addiction and ended up living on Los Angeles’ rough Skid Row.
She also spent time behind bars in 2001 after failing to complete a community service sentence from a prior driving under the influence (DUI) conviction.
