Cinematographer Miroslav Ondricek dies at 80

Oscar-nominated cinematographer Miroslav Ondricek has died, aged 80. The filmmaker worked on more than 40 movies throughout his career, and regularly collaborated with his longtime friend and director Milos Forman.
Ondricek earned two Best Cinematography Oscar nods for his work on Forman’s films, including Ragtime and 1984’s Amadeus, which also won him a BAFTA honour.
His other film credits include Robert De Niro’s Awakenings, A League of Their Own, Silkwood, Hair, The World According to Garp, and The Preacher’s Wife.
Ondricek’s final movie was Penny Marshall’s 2001 drama Riding in Cars with Boys.
In 2004, Ondricek was honoured with the International Achievement Award from the American Society of Cinematographers.
