The star, widow of Hollywood actor Robert Taylor, died on 19 June (10), at an assisted living care center in Burbank, California.

She began her professional career as a model, landing small movie roles and eventually relocating to California, where her Hollywood career bloomed.

Her film credits include Monsoon, The Iron Glove and Bengal Brigade, which co-starred Rock Hudson. She also appeared with Glenn Ford in The Americano and with Robert Mitchum in Bandido.

She wed Taylor in 1954 and enjoyed occasional roles with her second husband in his weekly U.S. TV series Robert Taylor’s Detectives from 1959 to 1962.

The actress gave birth to the couple's son Terry in June 1955 and daughter Tessa in August 1959, siblings for her two children - daughter Manuela and son Michael - from her first marriage to movie producer George Thiess.

But double tragedy struck in 1969, when she suffered the loss of both her son Michael and her beloved husband Taylor, who died from lung cancer.

In 1974, she married international film distributor Marshall Schacker. He lost his battle with cancer 12 years later.

Ursula also had health issues of her own and underwent surgery for a benign brain tumour in 1979. She recovered and was able to lead a normal life.

She is survived by her son Terry, and daughters Tessa and Manuela.
