The Rosemary's Baby filmmaker regained his freedom earlier this month (12Jul10) after Swiss officials turned down U.S. prosecutors' requests to extradite him on a 33-year-old child sex charge.

Polanski had been restricted to his luxury chalet in Gstaad since he was taken into custody in Zurich last September (09) en route to a film festival.

He made his first public appearance as a free man on 17 July (10) when he attended a music festival in Switzerland to show his support for his singer wife, Emmanuelle Seigner, and now the couple has returned to his adopted France.

The director was spotted on the streets of Paris on Sunday (25Jul10), when he accompanied Seigner and their son Elvis to a restaurant.

Polanski fled America and set up home in France on the eve of sentencing after pleading guilty to a charge of unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977.
