Producers convinced Helfer to dye her roots "every 10 days" to portray Number Six, the humanoid Cylon operative she played on the re-imagined U.S. series.
But the regular salon sessions ruined her hair - and now she refuses to adopt the fake look.
She says, "That only works for a robot or a rock singer or a stripper. I had to dye it back for other roles. By the second season it just started falling out in clumps."
