Cartoonist Conrad dead at 86

The illustrator died from natural causes at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles on Saturday (04Sep10), his son David has confirmed.

Conrad became famed for poking fun at U.S. presidents including Harry S. Truman, Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, and his funny drawings even landed him on former leader Richard Nixon’s list of enemies.

He spent the last three decades working at the Los Angeles Times and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize a total of three times throughout his 50-year career.
