The former Baywatch beauty was honoured for her tireless animal rights work over the last 12 months, and she's now revealed that during her time in the U.K. performing in a traditional holiday pantomime show, she took the opportunity to hold talks with the Beatles legend.
McCartney is a longtime campaigner on the issue and wrote to Anderson in 2009 urging her to lend her support to vegetarianism - and he met with her backstage at his concert in Liverpool in December (10).
She says, "I'm so tickled to be PETA UK's person of the year. I've never met a vegetable I didn't like and I even included a pro-vegetarian line in my panto performance - I always find a way to speak up for animals!
"I've loved spending time in the U.K. in 2010, and particularly Liverpool where it was my pleasure to share a drink with fellow vegetarian Sir Paul McCartney backstage at his intimate show... Thanks so much once again PETA for the honour."
