Cox reveals the actor is normally the one lecturing her about always strapping in before driving off - and she was stunned when she discovered his injuries could have been avoided if he had put his seatbelt on.
Arquette had to be stretchered from the scene of the accident after a head-on collision with another vehicle and even he admits it was a "knucklehead" move not to strap himself in for the drive through Hollywood.
Cox tells Access Hollywood, "He always reminds me to wear my seatbelt, so that was kind of weird. I said, 'David, what part of the ding, ding, ding (in-car seatbelt alert)... didn't annoy you. I don't understand.'
"(He said), 'I was close to home'. 'Not that close!'"
