Jun 16, 2011 | 5:00am EDT

The hand-painted piece made more than three times the original estimate of $38,000 (£24,000) after a collector bid $126,800 (£79,250) at the Christie's sale on Wednesday (15Jun11).

The rare poster features a mis-spelling of actress Lana Wood's name and depicts 007 star Sir Sean Connery holding a gun with two Bond girls at his side.

A poster for the 1942 Humphrey Bogart classic Casablanca also went under the hammer, fetching a staggering $48,000 (£30,000).
