Thanks to her hilarious roles in The Office and Parks and Recreation, Rashida Jones is now one of television's most sought after stars in the business. But her shows aren't the only thing she likes to be funny -- it's also the number one quality she looks for in a man. During an interview last Friday on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, the actress openly discussed what she looks for in a man, saying, "Funny is important … He doesn't have to laugh at my jokes. He has to make me laugh." However, dating is not her biggest priority. She continued, "My career right now is very time consuming. And I like it that way. It's good."
Still, Jones is more than open to the idea of dating if the right person comes along. But the idea of marriage … well, that's another story. The starlet explained her philosophy on matrimony, stating, "I totally believe in romance and love and all that. But the actual institution of marriage – in this country, more than half the people get divorced. So, something's not working." Don't be confused though -- Jones believes marriage really does work for some people and adds, "I'm not staying it doesn't work for everybody. I love going to weddings. And I totally support my friends that are married. I just don't know if it works altogether across the board. That's what I'm saying." In other words, to each his own.
As for her career, Jones continues to work tirelessly as an actor and writer, but she also hopes to one day get involved in the music business like her dear old dad (the legendary music mogul, Quincy Jones). She confesses, "It's something that I love to do. But I feel so strongly that I want to be so good at it, and I want to know music in and out. And I want to know theory. I want to lock myself in a room for six months and just know it … Unless I could devote my soul to it, I wouldn't want to do it, because I would want to make [my father] proud."
Well if she's as good a singer as she is a comedic actress, I'd say this girl's got nothing to worry about.
