Looks like Katy Perry isn't ready to be back in the spotlight quite yet. The singer -- who's nominated for seven honors -- announced via Twitter on Monday night that she would not be attending Wednesday night's People's Choice Awards, tweeting, "Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the People's Choice Awards. I want to thank u all for voting for me, fingers crossed! #KATYCATS." No further explanation was given, but I'm sure her recent split had a little something to do with it. This was to be Perry's first public appearance since Russell Brand filed for a divorce. So the only question that remains is, now that Perry's no longer going, can Russell get his invite back? - Twitter, People
Even though we already knew it to be true, Beyoncé and Jay-Z finally released an official statement on Monday regarding the birth of their baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter, which read: "We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012. Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven." The statement also dispelled any rumors that the baby was delivered via C-Section, saying, "She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs and it was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support." So, there you have it, straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Now we can go on to discussing that $3,500 crib. - US, US
