Jennifer Lawrence became somewhat of a newly discovered talent for Hollywood after starring as the young, blue-skinned shape-shifter Mystique in last summer’s X-Men: First Class and gaining critical acclaim (and as Oscar nod) for her role as an Ozark teen in Winter's Bone. And now with the first installment of The Hunger Games trilogy set to hit theaters in March, the actress' popularity only continues to grow. Yes indeed, it seems we just can't get enough of this girl and the entertainment industry is taking note. In fact, she's even been given the distinct honor of announcing this year's Oscar nominees.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the starlet will join Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, to reveal the nominees live on Jan. 24. So, if you needed a little extra incentive to get up at 5:30 a.m. that day, take heart in knowing that the lovely Lawrence will be right there to greet you. And let's hope she's on top of her game that early in the morning -- just in case she has to say the name of The Artist director, Michel Hazanavicius. Something tells me note cards will be on hand.
Congrats on the big honor, Jennifer, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
