johnny depp, vanessa paradisUpdate: I guess I was wrong. Vanessa Paradis has officially slammed the breakup rumors about her and Johnny Depp, claiming that the allegations are completely false. During an interview on the French TV show Le Grand Journal, the actress responded to the split rumors, saying, "Yes it's false - of course it's false!" She went on to add, "People say we are buying houses in the middle of nowhere, or that we have fifty two houses in France. All [of those rumors are] not too serious, but this latest one is a rumor which could cause a lot of harm to my family and my children." So there you have it. They're still together! Now we can all go back to believing in the power of celebrity romances. At least for now.

Earlier: For the past few weeks, rumors have been circulating that Johnny Depp and his longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, are on the verge of breaking up, after being together for over 14 years. Initially I tried to write this off as false gossip, but in light of the most recent reports, I may have to rethink my stance on the matter entirely. You see -- Paradis herself recently addressed the break up speculation, but what she said didn't exactly offer much in the comfort department or help ease our fears that the rumors were justified.

According to the Daily Mail, the singer-actress stepped out last night at the Paris premiere of her new flick Café de Flore completely solo, sans Depp by her side. That alone would be enough to add to our growing suspicion that these two are on the outs (especially since Depp also went solo to the Globes this year), but Paradis decided to add a little more fuel to the fire. She spoke to the radio station Europe 1 after the premiere and had this to say about the split rumors: "In the winter I separate, in the summer I marry. It's been 15 years since I've been getting married every year. In addition I have to answer all these rumors!"

But that's just the problem; she didn't give an answer, which makes us wonder if there is some truth behind it. This would've been the perfect opportunity to clear the air and say that the recent reports aren't true, but she didn't. Instead, she side-stepped the issue and just addressed that she's aware rumors have been circulating about them. What does that mean? Did she just find the question too ridiculous to answer or is there something she's not telling us? Sometimes not saying something is just as telling as actually saying something. We learned as much from Demi and Ashton. Paradis' lack of an answer speaks volumes. We could actually have a separation on our hands.
