Now, I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the biggest Justin Bieber fan in the world. In all honesty, I never really understood what all the hype was about, but his latest kind gesture has made me a Belieber. On Monday, the teen heartthrob gave a 6-year-old girl cancer patient the best Valentine's Day gift of her life: a day-long date with Bieber himself! This could not be more adorable, right?
The pop star learned about the little girl, Avalanna Routh (though she prefers to be called Mrs. Bieber), after he caught wind of her Facebook campaign to meet her idol on a WHDH Boston news report. In an act of kindness, Bieber retweeted the link to his millions of Twitter followers and invited Routh and her family to fly out and spend the day with him in Manhattan.
For their play-date, the two of them played board games, signed autographs for each other, and Routh was even able to style the famous Bieber hairdo. Afterward, the singer took to Twitter to express how much fun he had, writing, “That was one of the best things I have ever done. She was AWESOME. Feeling really inspired right now,’’ later adding a photo of the two of them with the caption: "Best part of my day."
For almost her entire life, Routh has fought against a rare form of cancer known as ATRT that is diagnosed in less than 30 cases per year. So the fact that Bieber took time out of his schedule to make this little girl's dream come true really shows something about his character. Not all celebs would be willing to do that, especially someone as busy as he is. I think I'm starting to understand what this whole Bieber Fever thing is all about. But if you still have your doubts, just check out the clip below.
