Justin Bieber is one astronomer's top pick for space travel, because, he says, the teenage superstar would boost the suborbital spaceflight industry.
During a presentation at the 2012 Next-Generation Suborbital Researchers Conference (you know the one) in Palo Alto, Calif., astronomer Seth Shostak posited: "My suggestion is, be sure to send Justin Bieber on one of these flights early on. If there's more interest, there are more customers. If there are more customers, there's more technical development. It's a positive feedback loop, and obviously that's good."
Shostak was quick to add that the Biebs is, of course, not the only celeb that'd help jumpstart and ultimately boost space travel, a possible nod to Beyonce and Jay-Z's mention not too long ago -- perhaps a tad jokingly -- of shooting a music video in space. Would it really look any different from contemporary music videos, though?
