megan foxOver the past few years Megan Fox has been considered of the sexiest stars in Hollywood/your little brother. But the actress admits it's a title she's a little tired of having and is ready to get in touch with her Hot Funny Girl side rather than just her Hot Girl side. In addition to starring in the recent romantic comedy Friends With Kids (playing a sexy mean girl) the 25-year-old star will next make an appearance in Sacha Baron Cohen’s new comedy The Dictator where she'll play a hooker, once and for all proving to the the world just how versatile an actress she is.

“When I first started acting I was always playing the bitchy or mean girl, then I was playing these cool, robotic women," Fox told The Sun about her former bad girl image, adding, "I was growing tired of playing those kinds of characters and reinforcing this stereotype of me and having to play up to that when I was doing interviews. Now I feel I can be myself again. It’s given me the chance to get away from that sexy, icy image that I’ve been stuck with."

Years back no one would have suspected America's favorite sex symbol would want so badly to be the butt of a joke, but Fox assures fans that she never enjoyed feeling obligated to live up to the serious, sex-vixen image. “I just didn’t know how to handle the attention or make that image work for me," the Jennifer's Body star revealed, "I felt I was suddenly living a double life and I was expected to behave a certain way. I just couldn’t be like that."

But it's not just her image Fox is hoping to change, but her fan base and the public's opinion about her, as well. “I think the public can relate to me more easily in these kinds of movies," Fox said, “Doing comedies has been a great change of pace for me and I’m interested to see how audiences react to seeing me in these kinds of films."

Hollywood.com's own Matt Patches has posed the question before asking "Can Megan Fox really pull off being funny?" She certainly seems to think so, but more response to her small role in The Dictator may answer that question to remaining skeptics once and for all. The comedy hits theaters May 16. Hey, eyes down here, buddy!
