Joseph Gordon-Levitt is no stranger to taking on roles inspired by real people. In the 2011 film 50/50 Gordon-Levitt's character was based on screenwriter Will Reiser's actual struggles with cancer and developing project Lincoln will feature JGL as the 16th U.S. President's oldest son. But the actor's newest potential muse has been yanked from a very surprising venue: Jersey Shore. Below is a shot from Daily Mail of Gordon-Levitt on the set of his directorial debut, Don Jon's Addiction, in which he stars as a beefed-up porn addict. From looks alone, some might surmise that the star has based his character off the one and only Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.
Considering the fact that The Situation himself has recently undergone rehabilitation for his own addiction — painkillers, which he has since opened up about — this theory might hit a little close to home. But the similarities are largely aesthetic: the generally svelte JGL has packed on a few pounds of muscle, slapped on a tight v-neck, and has done... something... with his hair. If Gordon-Levitt's character is modeled after the reality television star, Don Jon's Addiction can add that to its list of reasons why it looks fascinating, including Tony Danza possibly coming on board as JGL's dad.
Do we have a situation here or will JGL return to form?
