Are you suffering from Glee withdrawal? Then you'll be happy —or dare I say gleeful — to learn that Darren Criss will be taking Pink's place as the headliner for President Barack Obama's LGBT fundraiser gala, which will be held at the Beverly Wilshire hotel on June 6.
"So bummed I'll have to miss my dental appointment to sing for The US President Wed night. thanx @Pink for messin that up!! #greattiming," the Glee star jokingly tweeted to his followers. Apparently, Pink is suffering from a stomach flu. He also went on to write: "But in all seriousness @Pink- what an honor! & while I'm at it, thanks for letting me sing your songs on glee :) hope we did ya justice!"
After the gala, Obama will attend a fundraising dinner at the home of Glee creator Ryan Murphy. (Who knew the President was such a Gleek?) But if you were hoping to nab a spot at this event, then you might want to think about asking your boss for a raise: tickets are selling for $40,000 per couple.
Sure, it's a bit pricey, but if there's a chance of Darren busting out a rendition of "Teenage Dream" then it's totally worth it. Perhaps he and Obama can even perform this little ditty together.
