A Hollywood marriage can sometimes seem a little bit like a roller coaster ride. While some couples are looking to induct themselves into marital bliss, others are looking to get out — which is exactly what can be said about Wonder Years star, Danica McKellar. People magazine reports that the actress has filed for divorce from her composer husband, Mike Verta, whom she married in 2009.
According to court papers filed on Monday in the L.A. Superior Court, McKellar and Verta (who have a prenuptial agreement), officially separated on June 1 of this year and cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. The 37-year-old star, who played Winnie Cooper in the widely popular '90s TV show, has a one year old son, Draco, with Verta. They are seeking joint custody.
McKellar posted a message on her Twitter account Wednesday as a way to express her gratitude for her fans' ongoing support. "Thank you so much for all your love and support during a tough time," she wrote.
Let's hope their are many more wonder-ful years in McKellar's future.
