Kim Ward, the mother of the singer's teenage daughter La Princia and son Bobby Jr., claims Brown owes her two months' support for the children, amounting to $11,000.
In June 2004, the R&B star was sentenced to 90 days in prison for missing three months of payments, though the sentence was suspended after Brown made a $15,000 payment.
Brown's Atlanta-based lawyer, Phaedra Parks, tried to use his impending divorce to help his case, saying, "The media is very aware of this very public divorce that's going on right now.
"It's unfortunate we find ourselves in Boston on this matter."
Norfolk Probate and Family Court Judge Paula Carey slammed the explanation, saying, "Whether or not he's going through a divorce doesn't negate the fact that he still owes child support relative to his two children that he had prior to his marriage."
