Seal and Heidi Divorce Drama Heats Up

Sep 01, 2012 | 12:05pm EDT

Klum and SealUpdate: Klum released a statement to People on Monday regarding her split from Seal. "I cherish all of the great memories Seal and I created together over the years," she says. "Our separation was based on issues between the two of us ... Seal has moved on and so have I. My priority has and continues to be protecting and providing for our children."

Seal's rep also clarified for People that he did not mean to imply with his previous comment that he believed Klum cheated on him while they were married. "Seal would like to clarify that he was not implying his wife was cheating on him while they were together," said the statement. "But rather he was pointing out that they are separated and the divorce is not final so they are legally still married."

Earlier: If messy celebrity divorces were a Hollywood movie, they would be too predictable for most audiences. And unfortunately for Heidi Klum and Seal, even a seven-year love story is susceptible to following in the formula.

Eight months after announcing their separation, pictures of the German supermodel have surfaced of her and her bodyguard looking awfully close while vacationing in Italy with her family recently. According to TMZ, the Project Runway host insists nothing happened while she was still together with her husband. Seal on the other hand doesn't believe his wife. He told People magazine he "thought Heidi would have shown a little more class and at least waited until we separated before deciding to fornicate with the help, as it were."

Up until now the two have done their best to not talk about one another in the media. Though we all know how hard it is for a celebrity to clam up — so obviously both have been quoted on the subject. A lot. She talked to Elle magazine about the end of her seven-year relationship, saying "People don't need to know who did what. I don't want to talk positive or negatively about the ups and downs that we had."

Seal was less cryptic and more candid, speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Piers Morgan Tonight, and Australian radio. The singer said he feels "people at least deserved some kind of explanation why the picture of the ideal wasn't what they thought it was."

But apparently that's something even the two of them can't agree on.
