Tommy Lee Apologizes to Alicia Keys for Kid Rock's Behavior

Sep 11, 2007 | 12:10pm EDT

Tommy Lee has issued a public apology to Alicia Keys, blaming Kid Rock for "disrespecting" the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.

A scuffle broke out between Lee and his former love rival during Keys’ performance at the awards show in Las Vegas, where Rock was later cited for misdemeanor battery for throwing a punch at the Motley Crue drummer.

The reason for Rock's outburst was previously unknown, but Lee insists it all started because Rock--whom he dubs 'Kid Pebble'--is jealous of his relationship with their ex-wife Pamela Anderson.

Speaking on his Web site TommyLee.tv, he says, "Here I am minding my own (business) having a great time with my friend (magician) Criss Angel and watching the MTV awards in the front row...

"Pamela (Anderson) comes and sits on my lap, who I love and adore... I get a tap on the shoulder form Kid Pebble. I stand up and embrace him with a semi-hug and say, 'Hey dude, what up?'

"He punches me in the face... (but it was) more like a bitch slap! Anyway, I go to knock this jealous no-career havin' country bumpkin the f**k out... and before I can have a meeting with my fist and his ugly-ass mug, security guards at the Palms grab me and haul my ass outta the award show threatening me that

if I move they'll break my arm.

"Anyway... I would like to apologize to Alicia and... MTV for the disrespectful bulls**t caused by a piece of s**t called Kid Pebble!"

Lee married Anderson in 1995, before divorcing three years later--while the former Baywatch beauty filed for divorce against Rock, real name Robert Ritchie, just four months after they wed last August.
