February 10 is Grammy night and we can't wait. And it seems as if we are not alone. Drake was all set to unveil the first track off his yet-to-be-titled third album that night, but it appears as if he couldn't wait either.
The Canadian rapper took to his official website to give what he called his "good friends" a first look at his new single, "Started From the Bottom," saying "I didn't feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we've been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork...I think it's safe to say we're back together again."
Explaining the meaning behind "Started From the Bottom" he wrote, "I feel sometimes that people don't have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn't consistent with actual events. My family and my second family (consisting of the best friends anybody could ever have) all struggled and worked extremely hard to make all this happen. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve."
Despite his hard beginnings, the 26-year-old has sold more than 5 million albums worldwide and will be recognized at the Grammys with three nominations: Best Rap Performance for "HYFR", Best Rap Song for the "Motto", and Best Rap Album for Take Care.
The Grammy Awards will air on CBS at 8pm EST. Listen to the track below and tell us what you think in the comments section.
