Former Culture Club singer Boy George has been charged with false imprisonment after allegedly chaining a male escort to the wall of his London flat.

The 47-year-old gay star--real name George O'Dowd--was charged on Monday over the incident, which took place at his flat in Shoreditch, East London, in April this year. He was released on bail on Tuesday morning.

The "Karma Chameleon" hitmaker will return to the capital's Thames Magistrates Court on Nov. 22 for a further hearing.

This isn't the first time the singer has been in trouble with the law--he was ordered to perform community service in New York in 2006 after pleading guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his Manhattan apartment.
