Christie Brinkley is struggling to come to terms with the court revelations that emerged on the first day of her divorce trial.

The former model was in Suffolk County Supreme Court in New York on Wednesday to hear the opening arguments in her battle with estranged husband Peter Cook.

Brinkley's lawyer suggested Cook's Internet porn habit had cost the couple $3,000 a month during their marriage, as part of a personal attack on the shamed businessman.

As details of his affair with teenager Diana Bianchi were revealed in court, Cook broke down as his own attorney cross-examined him.

Bianchi also appeared on the witness stand, revealing she and Cook had had sex less than 10 times, and she had been asked to lie to cover up the affair.

But the sordid details left Brinkley in a distressed state, telling the media after the hearing that she "heard a lot of new things I didn't know" in the opening proceedings.

She added, "I need some time to let it all absorb."

The couple is fighting over custody for their children Jack, 13, and Sailor, 10.

The trial continues.
